Early records show that Benedetto Anzaldi, son of Calogero Anzaldi and Provvidenza Guiliani, was baptized at Riesi's Basilica Maria Santissima della Catena in 1831. Benedetto married Orsola Atturio and became a sulfur miner at the nearby Trabia Tallarita mine. This family line continued with the birth of Benedetto's son, Calogero, who was born in 1874.

Like his father, Benedetto, Calogero (born 1874) was baptized in the Basilica Maria Santissima della Catena. Calogero married Maria Guiseppe Lombardozzi, and they had a son, Pasquale, who was born in 1902. The S.S. Patria ship manifest indicates that Calogero traveled to America in 1921 without his wife, Maria. His occupation is listed as mechanic. Calogero's fate is unknown, though it is thought he returned to Riesi by 1930. Calogero's son, Pasquale, traveled to America in 1923 to stay permanently.

Pasquale Anzaldi (1902) immigrated to America in 1923. The images below are Pasquale's ticket to America with various ports of call and his passport. According the ship's manifest, he was traveling to live with his father, Calogero Ansaldo, who was already in America. The ship manifest also indicates that Pasquale's mom, Maria Lombardazzo, remained in Riesi, Sicily.
